My Vision as an Educator
It is my duty to provide an environment for students that lends
to students on task and focused on the lesson. Students who are not on task are not achieving high levels
of learning and therefore cannot be expected to ascertain higher levels of knowledge. My responsibility
to the students is to provide them with a structured classroom that harvests productivity, without which would lead to a chaotic
environment that does not support knowledge growth and mastery. A structured classroom will house adequate
learning space and efficient placement of classroom articles so that students will not become easily distracted, for if they
are distracted or unable to participate in the lesson, they will take away nothing and their time has been wasted.
I expect my students to treat
me with respect and look to me as a mentor and role model. Students are with me more hours a day than they
are with their families, therefore it is my responsibility to present myself in such a way that they are able to look up to
me and turn to me for assistance. If my students are not able to approach me, I have failed them and am
not a true educator. A teacher who shows no interest in their students or does not fluidly communicate
with students, is not truly an educator, for it requires compassion with accountability to truly attain effective relationships
with students which will then foster successful academic achievement.
Students will provide each other with support by encouraging
one another and showing compassion for one another in all aspects of daily routines and experiences. Students
who cannot work together and show tolerance and empathy for one another cannot attain high levels of achievement in the academic
or professional world. They need guidance to grow as individuals as well as team players to be successful
in the professional world. These attributes will be strengthened through efficient work in groups where
all members are accountable and must interact regardless of background or discrepancies.
My responsibility to my pupils
is to provide them with a fair environment not based on color or creed. I hold my students to high expectations
because I know that each student has the potential for growth, but they must be appropriately challenged to promote that development.
I will not hold myself or my students to state mandated levels, rather I will supply the tools and foundation needed
for the self-confidence to permit students to excel and take with them much more. Individuals who are only
expected to do the minimum are less likely to even achieve those standards; a student given the opportunity to soar can accomplish
higher levels of excellence and mastery.
My hope is for students to feel invited into my classroom, to enjoy what each day may bring.
Education is not effective if those being taught are unreceptive due to lack of effort from the educator.
I challenge myself to present a positive atmosphere that harvests a reinforcing environment for attaining exceptional
levels of understanding and growth through our own mistakes providing adequate resources to facilitate their correction.
To attain these goals
I charge myself as a professional to be consistent and dedicated to my students by committing to lifelong learning.
No one is perfect, but my passion for success from my students will not falter.
