Dear Parents,
My name is Amanda Wood, your student’s 3rd grade
teacher and I am really glad to welcome you and your child to my classroom this year. I graduated from the University Texas
with a degree in Philosophy and in German, and have since lived in several cities and states with my husband who was in the
Navy for 14 years. We moved to Temple, TX shortly after the birth of our only son who is now 5.
I love to read and do crafts, as well as ride and train horses. Apart from that, I am always on
a quest to meet new people and learn about their language and culture.
I look forward to meet as well as know each
and every student of my class and their parents too. This year will be a challenging one for your children as compared to
last year, however, it is my goal to make the class stimulating and interesting, so that each child understands and enjoys
the material we are covering. It is my belief that each child can rise to new and higher levels of achievement
with the proper education, and that will be the basis of my instruction.
If you would like to meet me to discuss
your child’s performance, progress or any other topics, please feel free to meet me during my lunch break hours between
11:30-12:00. Advance notice would be appreciated to schedule such a meeting, but I understand that some
things may require immediate attention, so my door is always open during these hours should you need me. I
